The homes on McPhersons Pt are some of the oldest on the Lake. Sunset Serenity is not the only one built in the early 20th century. And some houses have an even older history. In decades gone by, the Point – as locals call it –hosted a dock for a ferry, an amusement park, and a boarding house. These older homes were originally built as summer cottages.
Today, the neighborhood is very quiet and full of year-round residents. Many people are raising their families on the Point and others – including the neighbors closest to Sunset Serenity – are enjoying their golden years there.
Each lakefront home has a yard overlooking a dock where you'll often see the neighborhood pets playing. You will find that the neighbors are very friendly. In fact, that is one of the biggest appeals of a house on McPhersons Pt. and the Conesus Lake community, more generally.
We ask that you be respectful of the families that live on the Point. Late nights of loud outdoor socializing are not appropriate and are also contrary to the house rules.
Since we bought our Conesus lakefront home in August 2023 we’ve made several improvements to the house, including those listed below.
• Complete renovation of hall bathroom upstairs, including shiplap, new tile shower, sheet rock, paint, toilet and vanity.
• New sheet rock and shiplap in the second bedroom.
• Main bedroom: shiplap added to sleeping area. Entire main bedroom suite repainted. New blinds in three windows, including both windows overlooking lake. Crib and workspace added to lake-facing room.
• Third bedroom wallpaper removed, sanded, patched and painted with feature wall.
• Fourth bedroom sanded, patched, and repainted.
• High speed mesh network internet throughout house.
• New memory foam queen sleeper sofa and sectional.
• New dining-room table with seating for up to 10 people.
• New big-screen television and high-speed Roku Ultra box, with YouTubeTV.
• Pendant lights in kitchen replaced with recessed lighting.
• New Bosch dishwasher
• All bedrooms have new mattresses

Remote control: We recommend you use the provided Roku remote control.
NOTE: you can also stream from the built-in streaming apps that came with the TV. We do not recommend using those apps because they are slow and wonky.

Garbage & Recycling:
Both garbage and recycling are picked up on Mondays. You can find the garbage can and recycling container on the side of or behind the garage.
Please be sure to put the garbage out to the curb by Sunday evening.
Retractable Awning:
To open and close the retractable awning over the lake-side patio, use the remote control, which should be located on the little "Butler" statue in the dining area. When you leave, please place the remote control back on the butler stand.
Home Comforts: Before you leave, turn off the air conditioners and make sure the thermostats are turned down to 60 degrees. If you've made any adjustments during your stay, a quick reset ensures everyone feels right at home.
